Marketing Agencies in Egypt: What Clients Should Ask in 2026
Pillar Guide
The brief a company hands to marketing agencies in Egypt now reaches well beyond a logo, a campaign and a media plan. It asks for a brand that holds across markets, a search presence that survives the arrival of AI answers, paid media that can be audited line by line, and systems that keep customer data inside the law.
This guide is written for the people who sign that brief, whether they sit on the board of a corporate group, run marketing for a hospital network, or lead procurement for a government body. It sets out what the Egyptian market looks like in verified numbers, what a capable partner should deliver across brand, growth, strategy, technology and AI, and which questions help buyers compare marketing agencies in Egypt on evidence rather than on presentation.
KHP Marketing & Consultancy Agency has worked in this market since 2018, with offices in Egypt, Dubai and Doha. The perspective that follows comes from that work. Every statistic in this guide comes from a named source.

The Market That Marketing Agencies in Egypt Now Serve
Audience scale. DataReportal’s Digital 2026 report for Egypt, published in November 2025, places the population at 119 million, citing United Nations data, with a median age of 24.5. Some 98.2 million people were online at the end of 2025, which is 82.7 per cent of the population. Mobile connections numbered 121 million, equal to 102 per cent of the population. The median mobile download speed reached 56.45 Mbps after rising 120 per cent in the twelve months to August 2025, according to Ookla data cited in the report.
Platform reach. Facebook’s advertising reach stood at 51.6 million users in late 2025. YouTube reached 49.3 million. TikTok reached 48.8 million adults, equal to 65.5 per cent of all Egyptian adults, and its ad reach grew by 25.2 per cent over the year. Instagram reached 21.7 million, Snapchat 20.6 million, and LinkedIn counted 15.0 million registered members. DataReportal cautions that advertising reach is not the same as active users. These figures size an audience that can be bought, which is not the same as an audience that can be counted, and the distinction matters whenever an agency presents a reach forecast.
Audience composition. One detail changes planning. Men account for 61.0 per cent of Egypt’s social media user identities and women for 39.0 per cent. A campaign aimed at women needs platform and creative choices that reflect where that audience concentrates. Snapchat, for example, skews female, with women forming 57.0 per cent of its adult ad audience.
Advertising budgets. Spend is following the audience. IAB MENA’s report, released on 8 June 2026, puts MENA digital advertising at US$8.185 billion in 2025, up 17.8 per cent year on year. Egypt recorded growth of 23.1 per cent, the highest of any market in the region. Across the region, social advertising grew 19.3 per cent and social video grew 23.6 per cent.
Commerce and payments. ecommerceDB estimates Egyptian e-commerce revenue at US$2.34 billion in 2025, with growth of 20 to 25 per cent and Noon the largest retailer at US$1.69 billion. The same source places online share of total retail in the 0 to 5 per cent band, which in our reading describes a market with substantial room left. The payments base supports it. At the 12th PAFIX conference, the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt cited 55.5 million Meeza digital wallet accounts and 16 million InstaPay users.
Government direction. Policy points the same way. Egypt’s communications ministry says the ICT sector contributes around 6 per cent of GDP and targets 8 per cent by 2030, according to Ahram Online’s July 2026 report on remarks by Minister Raafat Hindi.
Our position is that these numbers raise the bar for marketing agencies in Egypt. Audiences are large, young, mobile-first and spread across several platforms at once. Budgets are rising fast enough to draw scrutiny from finance teams, and that scrutiny is healthy. It rewards agencies that can connect spend to outcomes.
What Full-Service Marketing Agencies in Egypt Should Cover
Service lists look similar from one agency to the next. The more useful test is whether the disciplines are connected. A campaign designed by one team, built by another and measured by a third loses information at every handover. KHP organises its work in five disciplines, delivered by one integrated team.
Brand architecture and creative
This discipline covers naming, identity systems, art direction, photography, film, company profiles and print. Its purpose is consistency. A brand that looks different on a tender document, a social feed and a shopfront asks its audience to do extra work. Procurement teams and investors read company profiles and credential documents closely, which makes those documents marketing assets as much as administrative ones. KHP also produces campaign imagery and video with generative AI tools, combined with live production where a project calls for it, which shortens production time on high-volume content.
Credentials deserve the same discipline as campaigns. A tender response or a pre-qualification pack is read by people who compare several submissions side by side, so structure decides how fast they find what they need. KHP builds these documents around a fixed order: who the organisation is, what it can deliver, the certifications that back the claim, and case studies with a named client, a defined problem and a measured result. Client names appear only where the client has approved publication, which protects both parties and keeps the document usable in procurement settings that check references.
Marketing and growth
Integrated digital marketing, social media management, paid media, SEO, AI search optimisation, public relations and event activation sit here. The common thread is accountability. Every pound placed in paid media should trace to a result, and every content calendar should trace to a business objective. Agencies in this category should report in the client’s terms, such as qualified enquiries, bookings and revenue, and not only in impressions.
Strategy and consultancy
Business strategy, evaluation and valuation belong alongside marketing because marketing decisions depend on commercial facts. A market entry plan, a restructuring of a group’s brand portfolio or a valuation ahead of an investment round all require analysis that a creative team alone cannot supply. KHP’s consultancy practice works with leadership teams on business model design, financial planning, go-to-market strategy, operational gap analysis and valuation.
Digital products and technology
Web applications, mobile applications and custom workflow systems extend marketing into operations. Client portals, booking systems, dashboards, CRM and ERP platforms generate the first-party data that keeps campaign measurement honest. An agency that can build these systems reduces the number of vendors a client must coordinate.
AI and intelligent systems
Conversational agents, predictive analytics and business automation form the fifth discipline. They matter to marketing because the customer’s first contact is increasingly a chat window or an automated response, and because forecasting demand and segmenting customers depend on the same data pipelines. KHP builds AI chatbots, customer support triage tools, demand models, and automated reporting and lead qualification workflows.
An agency need not offer all five disciplines. A buyer should simply know which of them sit inside the contract and which depend on subcontractors, because that decides who answers when something fails. For buyers comparing marketing agencies in Egypt, that single question often clarifies the whole proposal.
Search Now Has Two Layers, and Marketing Agencies in Egypt Must Cover Both
Search optimisation used to mean one results page. It now means two layers. The first is the familiar ranking of links. The second is the AI answer that sits above or beside them.
Google brought AI Overviews to the Middle East and North Africa, and to Arabic, on 20 May 2025, according to Google’s MENA blog. AI Mode followed in Arabic from 8 October 2025. Google reports that early AI Mode users in regions where it is live submit queries two to three times longer than traditional search inputs. A longer question is a more specific question, and specific questions reward pages that answer them directly.
Gartner predicted in February 2024 that traditional search engine volume would fall 25 per cent by 2026 as AI chatbots and virtual agents absorb queries. That is a forecast, and the actual figure will vary by market and sector, but the direction matches what Google itself is building. Gartner’s accompanying advice is clear. Content should keep demonstrating expertise, experience, authoritativeness and trustworthiness.
Google’s guidance to site owners is consistent with that advice. It states that no special optimisation is required for AI Overviews and AI Mode, that existing SEO fundamentals continue to apply, that no special schema.org markup is needed, and that structured data should match the visible text on the page. It also describes a query fan-out technique, in which one question triggers several related searches across subtopics. A page that covers a subject in depth, with clear internal links, gives that process more to retrieve.
KHP therefore runs search as two connected services. Search engine optimisation covers technical audits, keyword strategy, content architecture, on-page optimisation, authority building and reporting, including local and regional SEO for companies operating across several markets. AI search optimisation, often called generative engine optimisation or GEO, audits how a brand appears in answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, then structures content, entities and structured data so those systems can retrieve and cite it. SEO wins the ranking. GEO wins the citation.
Buyers should ask any agency three questions here. How does it measure visibility in AI answers, given that Google reports AI feature traffic within the Web search type of the Search Console Performance report, alongside ordinary results? Which pages on the site answer questions in a form that can be quoted? How does the content strategy handle Arabic and English? Marketing agencies in Egypt should run SEO and GEO as one programme, because both draw on the same content, the same technical foundations and the same authority signals.
Social, Video and Paid Media in a Mobile-First Market
Marketing agencies in Egypt plan for an audience that is mobile-first and video-led. According to DataReportal’s platform figures, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook each reach about half of the country’s internet users, at 49.7, 50.2 and 52.5 per cent respectively.
Globally, GWI research reported by DataReportal finds that social media ads rank third among sources of brand awareness, behind search engines and TV ads, and that more than 30 per cent of adult internet users say they discover new brands through ads on social platforms. Search, social and television therefore remain complementary, and plans that treat them as rivals leave reach unused.
Performance media tests an agency’s discipline. KHP plans, buys and optimises across Google, Meta, programmatic platforms, outdoor, television and print, and tracks every placement against return. A buyer can apply the same standard to any proposal. Ask for the measurement plan before the media plan. Ask who owns the ad accounts and the data. Ask how budget moves between channels when results diverge from forecast. The measurement plan is where proposals from marketing agencies in Egypt can be compared most fairly.
Content production follows the same logic. Short-form video has to be conceived for the platform it will appear on, which affects the script, the opening seconds, the framing and the sound. KHP’s production team handles concept, scripting, direction, post-production and delivery, and uses AI-generated imagery and video in hybrid workflows where they reduce cost and time without reducing quality. Social media management then keeps that content working through community management, campaign execution and transparent performance reporting.
Technology and AI as Agency Capability
Egypt’s government has made AI a stated national priority. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi launched the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025 to 2030 in January 2025, replacing the first strategy of 2021. The strategy rests on six pillars and sets targets of more than 250 AI companies and 30,000 AI professionals by 2030, according to Middle East AI News and Egypt Innovate. The communications ministry names AI as one of its strategic priority areas.
For clients, the practical question is what AI can do inside their own operations, beyond the marketing function. KHP builds in three areas.
- Conversational agents and AI applications handle customer support triage, internal HR queries and search across company content.
- Predictive analytics and data intelligence turn operating data into demand models, customer segmentation and executive dashboards.
- Business automation takes over repetitive, high-volume work such as invoice and contract processing, recruitment workflows, lead qualification and approval routing.
A marketing agency with engineering capability can close a gap that otherwise sits between teams. The campaign generates enquiries, the chatbot qualifies them, the CRM records them and the dashboard reports them. When four vendors handle those four steps, each handover is a place where data is lost and accountability blurs. Marketing agencies in Egypt that build as well as advise can keep those steps under one set of standards and one point of contact.
Data Protection Is Now Part of the Brief
Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law, Law No. 151 of 2020, gained its Executive Regulations on 1 November 2025 through Ministerial Decree No. 816 of 2025, according to Al Tamimi & Company. The regulations set out rules on consent, licensing, record-keeping, breach notification, cross-border data transfers, special categories of data, children’s data and direct electronic marketing. Controllers must keep an electronic register of consent records and processing details. Transfers of personal data outside Egypt require a licence or permit. Law firm CMS notes that the regulations start a one-year compliance period.
The law itself classes children’s data as sensitive personal data, which matters to any brand in education, toys or family retail.
Marketing runs on personal data. Lead forms, CRM records, email lists, retargeting audiences, chatbot transcripts and analytics tags all collect it. An agency that handles campaigns, websites and automation for a client therefore becomes part of that client’s data-handling chain. Procurement teams evaluating marketing agencies in Egypt should add data handling to the scorecard.
The questions are practical. Where is campaign and customer data stored? How is consent captured and logged? Who inside the agency can access it? How would a deletion request be executed? Certifications help answer these questions. KHP holds ISO 27001 for information security management and ISO 9001 for quality management. Certification does not replace legal advice on a specific project, and clients should take counsel on their own obligations. It does show that security and process are audited against an international standard.
Eight Criteria for Evaluating Marketing Agencies in Egypt
A procurement scorecard for marketing agencies in Egypt should weigh eight things.
- Integrated structure. Confirm which disciplines sit in-house. Ask to meet the people who will do the work, as well as the people who pitch it.
- Senior involvement. A senior partner should be named on the account, with a clear role in strategy reviews and escalations.
- Measurement. Agree success metrics before work begins, tie them to revenue, enquiries or bookings, and require reporting in the client’s own terms.
- Ownership. Contract for ownership of ad accounts, creative files, source code, data and domain assets from the first day.
- Data and security. Ask for information security certification and a written account of how personal data is handled under Law No. 151 of 2020.
- Market presence. Clients operating across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and beyond need an agency that understands each market’s language, regulation and media. KHP maintains offices in Egypt, Dubai and Doha.
- Sector evidence. Ask for work in your sector and for client references. KHP’s clients span healthcare, real estate, food and beverage, education, retail and e-commerce, marine and industrial services, travel and hospitality, logistics and corporate holdings, including government bodies.
- Technology and AI capability. Test whether claims about AI are operational. Ask to see a working system, a dashboard or an automation, not a slide.
Weight the criteria to suit the project. A government tender response will weigh certifications and credentials heavily. A retail launch will weigh media performance and speed.
What a Strong First Ninety Days Looks Like
Whatever the scope, the opening quarter of an engagement with any of the marketing agencies in Egypt should follow a clear sequence.
The first fortnight belongs to discovery. The agency audits existing brand assets, analytics, search visibility, ad accounts and customer data, and interviews leadership about commercial priorities. The next phase turns those findings into a written plan with owners, metrics and a budget logic. Execution starts after both sides sign off the plan. The final weeks of the quarter review early results against the agreed measures and adjust the plan.
The order of the work matters. Structure comes first, meaning objectives, audiences, budget logic and reporting. Brand comes second, meaning positioning, identity and messaging. Platforms come last, meaning the channels where the work will run. Campaigns launched before the first two are settled spend money to learn what a plan would have shown.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many marketing agencies in Egypt should a company shortlist?
Three to five is enough. Fewer limits comparison, and more adds meetings without adding information. Send each agency the same written brief so proposals can be compared line by line.
How should fees and media spend be structured?
Ask each agency to separate production fees, management fees and media spend in its proposal. The three behave differently and should be assessed independently. Media spend should sit in ad accounts the client owns.
Does SEO still matter now that AI answers appear in search?
Yes. Google states that its SEO best practices remain relevant for AI Overviews and AI Mode, and that no special markup is required to appear in them. Pages that rank and answer questions clearly are the pages AI systems can draw on.
What is generative engine optimisation?
Generative engine optimisation, or GEO, is the practice of structuring content, entities, technical signals and authority so that AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity cite a brand in their answers. It complements SEO and does not replace it.
Can one agency handle brand, marketing and technology together?
Yes, provided the disciplines are genuinely integrated and not stitched together by subcontractors. KHP delivers brand architecture, marketing, consultancy, software development and AI systems through one team, which keeps strategy, creative and engineering working from the same brief. Among marketing agencies in Egypt, this structure is worth testing in every pitch.
Choosing Between Marketing Agencies in Egypt
The market gives buyers more to work with than at any point before. The audience is large and connected, budgets are growing, search is changing shape, and the law now governs how customer data is handled.
The agencies worth shortlisting will show how brand, growth, strategy, technology and AI connect. They will measure results in commercial terms, protect data, and operate across markets. KHP has built its practice on that combination since 2018, backed by sixteen years of field experience through its founder.
